Academy and Competitive Teams
Academy Teams at CVUFC include both boys and girls beginning with our U8 travel all the way through our U19 travel teams. CVUFC’s technical staff are professionals who have played, coached, and excelled at the highest levels, which allows that experience to make sound and educated decisions for all players in the club. Below we outline some initial information regarding CVUFC’s Academy Teams program.

Are tryouts required?
For the 2025/2026 Seasonal Cycle Academy Teams will be formed with groups that come to CVUFC as a team. Individuals may register and will be evaluated in current team training to see if the player is a good fit for the team and the club. This approach mirrors academy opportunities at the highest levels. The 2026/2027 Seasonal Cycle will bring new tryout opportunities as we change from birth year to the adopted school year cut-off dates determined by the sanctioning bodies. Who Coaches
Our local coaches are selected by the club’s technical staff and are USSF licensed coaches who have experience working with youth players of all ages. Background checks are mandatory on all coaching staff members in the club in all programs.
Season Length
The Travel team program begins in early August and plays through the month of July. Winter training is included at different levels depending on the age of the travel team.
Our season will go from 8/1/25 to 7/31/26
Practice Frequency
Competitive teams will practice three to four times per week depending on the age and level.
Games/Leagues
Match days are played on the weekend either Saturday or Sunday. League schedules are finalized about 2-3 weeks prior to both the fall and spring seasons
Uniforms
Uniforms are not included in your registration fee. More info coming soon.
Program Fees
2025/26 Fees:
Sign Up Fee: $ 250.00 per player.
Monthly fee: $ 50.00 per month for 11 months starting the following month after signing up.
Fee includes:
a) SOCAL season player ID card valid from August 1st 2025 to July 31st 2026.
b) SOCAL League from September 2025 to December 2025.
c) Two practices per week, and two hours per practice.
Not Included:
Uniforms - State Cup - Spring League - Tournaments - College Showcases & Ref Fees.
